Requirements: 3D CG programming experience. Good skills in mathematics.

  • Most topics are only theorically covered. Some methods are experimented with Maya.
  • Some algorithms/methods are implementable or can be covered with more details, please contact us.

Duration: 3 Days, 7 hours per day

    • Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG)
    • Procedural textures

  2. Advanced rendering

    • Volume graphics
    • Marching cubes, transfert function, other methods
    • Local illumination
    • Light modeling, radiometry, BRDF
    • Raytracing
    • Algorithm, Aliasing, sampling, filtering
  3. Global illumination

    • Mathematics
    • Probabilities, Monte Carlo integration (Russian Roulette, splitting ; stratified sampling, importance sampling, ...)
    • Rendering equation
    • Stochastic path tracing
      Path tracing
    • Photon mapping
    • Theory & practise with mental ray.
    • Participating medias
    • phase function, raymarching
