XToon shader for mental ray

Features

It is an improved toon shader (XToon stands for "eXtended Toon shader) providing a better control over lighting behaviour.

This technique has been invented (among others) by Pascal Barla, Joelle Thollot and Adrien Bousseau, French researchers at INRIA. Visit their web site for more information.

Platforms

Shader for mental ray 3.5+, compatible with :

  • mental ray standalone
  • 3ds Max 9, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011
  • Maya 8.5, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011
  • Softimage/XSI 7.5, 2010
  • We may also port it on others rendering engine (VRay, RenderMan, ask us if you are interested, this is not an automatic process and will be treated on a case by case basis)

Supported operating systems :

  • Windows XP/Vista/Seven 32 and 64 bits
  • Linux 32 and 64 bits
